Convert a Web Page into a Web Application using Google Chrome
One of cool features of Google Chrome is its ability to convert web pages into web applications. Web Applications are same as the web sites but with Web Applications Chrome allows you to creates a desktop shortcut, add it to the start menu or add it to the Quick Launch bar. Once you launch web applications Chrome opens those applications on a separate trimmed down version of the browser that makes it look like a standalone application.
Follow these steps to convert a web page into a web application using Google Chrome.
Step-1:
Launch the Google Chrome browser.
Step-2:
Click on the Page options (a square icon on the top right side)
Step-3:
Click on “Create application shortcuts…” menu option.
Step-4:
On the Google Gears dialog box put a check mark next to where you want the shortcut to be added. You can add a web application shortcut to Desktop, Start Menu or to the Quick Launch Bar.
Step-5:
Click the OK button to dismiss the dialog.
Now, if you go into one of the places where you asked Google Chrome to create shortcuts you should be able to see the shortcut there. Just click on it or double click on it to launch the web application in its own window.
