That’s right. After Google Docs and Zoho Suite, Microsoft is bringing Office applications to the web browser near you. Microsoft has said that it will release a light-weight, trimmed-down versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote for the browser. And they will be released thru the Office Live service. Microsoft stressed that Office Web is not a replacement for the desktop Office version and is more of a convenience to author simple documents, spreadsheets, presentations and notes. Later this year, users who are interested to participate in a private Tech Preview of Office Web will be able to sign-up thru Office Web Workspace site.
