Set Mozilla Firefox as your computer’s default web browser

Applicable to Firefox

If you love Firefox and the many ways you can extend your web browsing experience then you might want to set Firefox as your system’s default browser. Here is how you can set Firefox as your default browser,

Step-1:

Launch Firefox and click on “Tools” menu and then on “Options” menu.

Step-2:

Firefox will open up the “Options” dialog. Go into the “Advanced” tab and on the “General” sub-tab look for “System Defaults” section at the bottom of the dialog and make sure to check the “Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup” (make sure to have a tick mark in front). Then hit the “Check Now” button.

Step-3:

Firefox will prompt with the “Default Browser” dialog asking to acknowledge to make Firefox the default browser. Click the “Yes” button and then click the OK button to dismiss the dialog.

Firefox should now be set as the default browser on your computer.

If you are reading this but you haven’t installed Firefox on your computer yet, then download Firefox from Mozilla.
