Gmail Labs is pretty interesting, they keep on introducing new features that makes Gmail more sticky that I find it hard to switch to any other email providers. If you are like me who tend to save some important email messages as documents for further processing you might love this Gmail Labs feature that allows you to convert Gmail messages and store as Google Documents.

Follow theses steps to enable “Create a Document” feature in Gmail,

Step-1: Gmail Settings

Gmail Settings link

Sign-in to your Gmail account and click on the “Settings” link at the top of the page.

Step-2: Gmail Labs Tab

Gmail Labs tab

Click on the “Labs” tab.

Step-3: Enable “Create a document” feature

Enable "Create a document" feature

Scroll down to the “Create a document” section and make sure to check the “Enable” option. Then click on the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.

Step-4: Convert Gmail messages into Google Documents

"Create a document" link on a Gmail message

Open up any of your Gmail message and you should be able to see a link “Create a document” at the right side action items area. Clicking on that link will convert the email message into a Google Document and opens up the document in a new tab.

Create a document” feature in Gmail comes in handy to avoid copy/pasting the email message to a word processor. I hope you make use of this cool feature in Gmail to be a bit more productive. If you have any questions or comments regarding this please make sure to let us know in comments.
