Disable Flash in Internet Explorer using Toggle Flash

Toggle Flash

Adobe’s Flash is a great technology, no doubt about that. But some times even the modern browsers finds it hard to keep up with Flash. Particularly when you open a web page that contains Flash video in Internet Explorer 7 you might either see IE7 crash or you might notice that the Flash loaded page in IE7 is consuming too much of your computer’s processing power.

With “Manage Add-ons’” feature in Internet Explorer 7 you can enable and disable Flash but practically that’s not feasible every time you want to enable or disable Flash. Toggle Flash is a tiny little add-on to Internet Explorer 7 that helps you toggle Flash with a click of a button.

Toggle Flash button on IE7

Once you download and install Toggle Flash you’ll notice a Toggle Flash icon on your IE7 toolbar. If you don’t see the Toggle Flash button then you might want to customize your IE7 toolbar to bring the Toggle Flash button to the top.

Add or Remove Commands...in IE7

To do that right-click on your IE7 toolbar and click “Customize Command Bar” and then click on “Add or Remove Commands…”. On the “Customize Toolbar” window make use of the “Add –>” button if “Toggle Flash” entry is on the “Available toolbar buttons” list and not on the “Current toolbar buttons” list. Use the “Move Up” and “Move Down” buttons to move the Toggle Flash button to a position that’s convenient to you.

Download Toggle Flash (.msi download)

I hope Toggle Flash helps you deal with those Flash object issues in your Internet Explorer 7. If you have any questions/comments regarding this please let us know in comments.
