Undo sent emails with Gmail’s Undo Send feature
Gmail’s new “Undo Send” feature helps you stop a sent email.
Gmail Labs has put out another great feature, Undo Send. May be while you are composing an email or had a wrong recipient on your To address or for any other reason that you realize right after you’ve accidentally sent the email that the email shouldn’t have been sent. In the early days we have to just live with the embarrassment if the mail just accidentally sent was totally wrong in subject and recipient. Not anymore!
Gmail Labs’ new “Undo Send” feature let you cancel the send operation and even allows you to edit and resend the message later. The only catch is that you have to do this immediately after you send the email, for couple of seconds/minutes. If you cultivate the habit of realizing it quick then “Undo Send” could come-in handy. Let’s see how we can turn the feature on and how to use it.
Step-1: Navigate to Gmail Labs
Click on the Gmail Labs link to go to the Labs page in Gmail.
Step-2: Locate Undo Send
Scroll down to locate Undo Send. Click on the Enable option and then hit the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
Step-3: Undo Send in action
Once enabled, Gmail will reload and from now on whenever you send an email you’ll get a chance to cancel the sending action. Keep in mind, you can only Cancel within a few seconds and you have to really quick to act on it.
If you miss the Cancel action then you get another chance to Undo the sent message action. Keep in mind again that you only get a chance to undo the sent message action only for a couple of seconds. If you act on it within the stipulated time period then you’ll realize that Undo Send from Gmail Labs is a great helper/life saver in some instance.
