Find local time of the email sender with Gmail’s Sender Time Zone
Sender Time Zone from Gmail Labs allows you to see the current time at the email sender’s place.
This was rather annoying issue particularly if you live in a different time zone than most of your friends/contacts. It used to be that we respond to an email without realizing the local time of the contact and at times it makes it an issue that sometimes we expect a response without realizing that it’s too late to expect a response at that time.
Gmail Labs has released a new feature with which you can find out about the local time of the sender so you can make an informed decision of whether to expect a response now or later.

Start by navigating to Gmail Labs (click on the green Jar icon).

Scroll down to locate the “Sender Time Zone” section. Click on the “Enable” button and then hit the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.

Now, refresh your Gmail page and when you open a message you should be able to see a telephone handset icon enclosed in a circle next to the sender’s email address. That tells you that Gmail has sender time zone information for you.

Click on the “Show Details” link and you should be able to see the time you got the email along with the current time at the sender’s place.
This would be a really handy feature if you are dealing with people across time zones. I’ve been personally using this quite a lot these days. I hope you find it useful as well. If you have any questions/comments please let us know in comments.
