Get your Facebook Usernames on June 13, 2009

Don’t miss to get custom usernames for your Facebook profile.

All these days, the ultra-famous Facebook was using a random number to represent you (at least on the URL). That’s not greatly convenient when it comes to you getting a URL with some human rememberable name.

That’s all going to change on this Saturday, June 13, 2009. Starting at 12:01 AM on June 13, 2009 you’ll be able to choose a username which would make your friends, family and coworkers (essentially your contacts on Facebook) find you/get to your profile easily using, obviously, the username instead of the random number.

So, basically I can do this,

http://www.facebook.com/askar

instead of,

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=775944611

if I manage to get my username, of course.

To make it a bit more convenient for you to get to, Faceboook has a page up there at http://www.facebook.com/username/ with a countdown to June 13, 2009 12:01 AM.

So, stay tuned and be ready at 12:01 AM on June 13, 2009 and visit http://www.facebook.com/username/ as there will obviously be mad-rush when they open the doors for custom usernames.
