Firefox 3.5 features revealed [video]
See what’s cooking with the upcoming Firefox 3.5
The browser market is really up on a war with every major browser vendors releasing their own versions of browsers that are far too better than its predecessors. Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari and Google Chrome has all released their latest wave of browsers and the only other major browser missing the tune was Firefox.
Mozilla is working on its next release of Firefox 3.5 and it promises some neat features. HTML 5 support is a big thing but there are quite a set of Firefox 3.5 features that might give a run for the money to its competing browsers. Some of the major features include,
1. Embed videos without Flash support
2. Geo-location
3. Color profiles
4. Private browsing mode
5. TraceMonkey Javascript Engine
6. Smarter Session Store
7. Keyword Awesome Filters
8. Tab Tearing
9. Forget This Site
10. Undo Closed Window (without any extension support)
And here is a video of Mike Beltzner, Director of Firefox Development, showing us visually what these new feature-sets mean.
My only complaint is that if they can work on to reduce the memory footprint of Firefox to make it feel light-weight I wouldn’t even bother thinking of using any other browsers.
What’s your gripe about Firefox as it exists now?
