I used an app from the App Store called BatteryDoctor back when I had my iPhone 3G, and it worked fine (but required launching the app – didn't put a percentage on the "title bar"). But now, with my iPhone4, running iOS 4.3.2, I love having the percentage show.

What do I need to download to get the battery percentage toogle thing for my 3g phone.
And what are the steps I need to take to get it to work?

I have noticed that this option reduces the age of my Iphone’ battery.. Not recommended

Is there an app for the Battery Percentage toggle on the 3G? I find it so disheartening not to be able to accurately tell the percentage of life left!!!

This is not available on a 3G with 3.0 only the 3GS.

Note that this option only shows up for the 3GS; the 3G model running OS 3.0 does not have the Battery Percentage toggle. You can still enable a battery toggle on 3G models if your phone is jailbroken, however.
