So you finally took the plunge to get to the Apple Store (AT&T Store or online or what not, for that matter) to get you that shiny new iPhone 3GS (3G, may be). You are so excited to experience the whole new mobile experience. Given the fact that it might become one of the key gadget in your life it is important to get it right, right from the beginning.

Here are some of the top 10 things that you could do once you get your iPhone. By no means these are THE only things you should do, but take it as these are some of the important things that you should do.

Charge the battery

Your new iPhone will come with a partially charged battery. Even though it might not be fully charged it can get you going at least for some time. But as soon as you drain the battery make sure to put it through a full recharge.

Couple of important things to keep in mind to make the most out of your iPhone battery is, not to do partial charges, make sure to drain the battery completely once in a while and make sure to unplug the charger once it’s charged. Too many frequent, partial charges can drain the juice of your iPhone battery pretty quick.

Setup iTunes Store account

    Running your battery completely down is a bad idea. Batteries do not have a memory. Draining it completely is actually causing it's life time to be reduced. Batteries can only be recharged so many times. The further down you take it the less times you can recharge it.
