Automatically cleanup your iTunes Library with TidySongs
TidySongs can automatically clean-up your iTunes library in a lot efficient way.
If you have too many songs on your iTunes library I’m sure you must have faced this issue before. How many times have you took the pain of going through one song at a time (probably) to fix the missing album names, artist name, genre and the other meta information on your song list? Wouldn’t you feel that’s a painful process? I’m sure you’d have.
TidySongs can help you with cleaning-up your iTunes library in a lot better and easier way. You can use TidySongs to edit song meta information. You can either do all the clean-up manually or your can let TidySongs do its job by letting it do automatically.
Start by downloading TidySongs application. It’s an Adobe AIR application download and so once the download is finished you’ll end up with a ZIP file on your desktop. Once unzipped you’ll have the application ready to be launched.

Once you launch the application you’ll alerted to make sure your local iTunes application is running and not engaged with other activities like synching to your iPod, iPhone or other music players, downloading podcasts etc.

Once you make sure and click on the “Start” button you’ll be taken to the main page where you’ll see options to fix your songs, find duplicates and to organize genres.

To fix a song click on the “Fix your songs” button. You’ll be taken to the “Fix Songs” page where you can choose your iTunes playlist where you’d like to fix the songs. You can choose whether you want to fix it manually or let TidySongs do its job automatically. If you decide to go automatic then you can adjust the confidence factor by which TidySongs can fix the song automatically.

You can adjust the preferences using the “Options” tab. Here you can specify which fields you want TidySongs to update along with the songs that has specific words. You can comma separate multiple words.

Once you start the Fix Songs process you’ll be presented with a dialog similar to above. You’ll be presented with song information along with the confidence level. You can opt to view more details about the song using the “Details” button. If you are sure you want to fix the song you can use the “Fix” button, if not you can skip to the next song.

If you’d like to fix the duplicates on your iTunes library you can simulate TidySongs to inform you of the duplicates on your iTunes library. You can customize the options before you start to find duplicates.
Overall, TidySongs can make it a heck of a lot easier to clean-up your iTunes library in an easier and efficient way than to clean-up one song at a time manually.
I hope you find TidySongs useful. Please let us know if you have any questions/comments regarding this.
